We support an orphanage in Kenya.
Our project…. in the meantime also somewhat “your” project! Dear sympathizers, this is what we have accomplished, thanks to you all! Each form of support, small or large, has helped us make progress with the build of our orphanage! Please take a moment to voyage with us to the beginnings of this project, all the way back to 5/10/2016….
We have indeed come a long way, and we couldn’t be prouder of what our people on site have realised. Of course it doesn’t stop here! Thanks to your continual support this will turn out to be a paradise for our Sweet Children! Team “Sweet Children’s Hope Foundation” will be eternally grateful!!
After weeks of painting, we’re able to show you these results. This is how our buildings look like now, and we’re absolutely certain that we’ll be able to give our children that home feeling. We would like to thank everyone who took part in this, in whatever way. Upcoming works include tiling and finishing. We hope, with your support, to welcome our children this year. Sweet Children’s Hope Foundation would like to thank all of you!
Today we started inserting the glass, and work is progressing well…
Our workers getting on with laying screed
A few pictures of work in progress. Painting of the woodwork is getting along nicely, and today we are laying screed to prepare for laying tiles.
A few pictures of the orphanage, and onto paintwork
Everything is done by hand, and the results are there to be seen.
Electricity works have been completed. Tomorrow, the ceiling will be finished and ready for painting. Grouting the walls is set to be finished next week. Working without the proper tools is hard labour! We would like to thank our workers, who make it possible for us to show these results
Our people have been working hard for the past 10 days, setting up the rain water tanks. This will ensure the orphanage will have water during the hot months as well. The tanks have a capacity of 30.000 litres of water. Tomorrow we will connect the entire system.
After an unusually long rainy season in Kenia, we can finally continue building the orphanage. Three water tanks will be placed in the ground, so we can recuperate excess water from the two buildings. This will be very labour intensive as our workers will be digging the wholes out by hand. We’ll soon be able to show you the results
This is the boys’ building
This is the girls’ building. We couldn’t be happier with the result.
Windows, water mains and electricity have all been finished. Now, our workers are getting on with the interior finishing works
After many hours of wood works, the roofs are finally mounted. Now it’s a matter of getting the windows and doors inserted as quickly as possible. Bottom: On the left, we have the boys’ quarters. On the right, the girls’ quarters with living space and kitchen
Dear friends, our workers have finished the roof wood work, and are now mounting the panels. The roof will be ready by next week. Team Sweet Children’s Hope Foundation would like to thank you all!
Our people have worked really hard, meaning that the girls’ quarters is almost finished. Hopefully, they’ll be able to start covering the roof next week. We’re very proud to be able to show you this!
Our team in Kenia is currently working on putting up the roof truss for the orphanage. It’s no easy work as there is no electricity available. Fortunately, our team has provided the workers with their own generator.
The structure for the boys’ and girls’ quarters is finished. Next month, we’ll start mounting the roof. Thanks to all who have supported us! We couldn’t have accomplished this without you. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! On to the next steps…
Everything is proceeding according to schedule. Our workers are working hard to finish the girls’ quarters within the next few days. It’s heart-warming to see the quality of work being achieved with little means available!
Today, we finished the boys’ quarters. Tomorrow, we’ll start finishing works on the girls’ quarters. The roof will be mounted in July. We would like to thank Sara Ndungu and Joseph Mburu for always being ready whenever we need you. Love you guys!
Model version of our orphanage, made by Marc Timmermans. Thank you for the outstanding work Marc!
On this site, we’ve stopped building the orphanage for the time being. Meanwhile, we’re trying to raise money, so we can finish the structure, and mount the roof.
A few more pictures showing the work progress in Naivasha. Thank you for all the hard work being put in. Sweet Children’s Hope Foundation, together with Marnik, Marleen and Annita would like to thank you all!
We’ve travelled to Kenia for two weeks to build our orphanage. Here are a few pictures to show what we’ve achieved with your support! Marnik, Marleen and Annita would like to thank you!
Here are our first construction plans. We’re very proud of what we’ve achieved. Thank you all for supporting our project. The plans will be further detailed and registered in Kenia. We’ll keep you posted!
